is dedicated to the visually impaired. Eyesets will become more
common over the next few years and one of the challenges of this site is
to bring an awareness to those developers of Eyesets that there are
many visually impaired people who are legally blind who may actually be
able to lead a more normal life as a side effect of the new technology
that Eyesets will bring.
An Eyeset is the adaptation of a microdisplay for
displaying information directly on the retina. With this
capability, there is a whole segment of the visually impaired who might
be helped.
A special dedication is given to Monica Martinez of
Albuquerque, New Mexico, who gave inspiration to the realization that
there is a large population of visually impaired individuals who may be able
to radically change their vision given the new technology that is being
developed.
